Hedgerow Training

As well as planting new hedgerows, our hedgerow campaign focuses on what we can do to rejuvenate and restore existing hedgerows across Hampshire. Through training, talks, on farm walks and our traineeships we are hoping to inspire anyone who owns or manages hedgerows to understand their importance and to look after them for the long term.

Hedgelaying in Hampshire

We offer hedgelaying training course for farmers, as part of the Hedgerow Heroes project run by CPRE, the countryside charity in Hampshire.

By taking part in our hedgelaying courses and traineeships, you will learn valuable skills and connect with like-minded individuals who share our passion to nurture the countryside so nature can thrive. Together, we can make a difference, one hedgerow at a time.

All our hedge-laying training takes place between November and March.

Hedgelaying traineeships

We fund 5-month long traineeships with experienced hedge laying professionals to encourage young people and people from diverse backgrounds to learn the ancient craft of hedge-laying.

Practical courses

We organise practical hedge-laying training sessions for farmers, land managers and countryside professionals.

We offer hedge-laying, ‘have a go’ days for volunteers and the general public to learn the basic skills of hedge-laying.
